11 REASONS GAY PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO MARRY

1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control.

2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people can't legally get married because the world needs more children.

3. Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage is allowed, since Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.

5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are property, blacks can't marry whites, and divorce is illegal.

6. Gay marriage should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities.

7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

10. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.

11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars or a longer lifespan.

nonsense. study history, biology, medicine and sociology, and other sciences which would clearly demonstrate that homosexuality is absolutely normal.

Whoops...
Ummm... Mephaz... you who have no profile and probably no blog...
Certainly you have no sense of humor...

It is IRONY.
IRONY used to prove a point.

how can i know? well, i'm sorry if i have mistaken the idea of this post, but it is not so obvious. millions of people are thinking like that so how can i be sure this is irony?
and what's the poitn in having a profile or a blog? are these attributes necessary to persoanlity and identity in this "post-ultra-hyper-modern-electronic" world?
i believe it matters WHAT is said, not WHO said.

Anyway i'm happy it's only irony...

Hello Mephaz,

No worries, it's just that the statements which are often used by those afraid of homosexuality are made, then they are refuted in the same sentence. I certainly hope that people get the idea that this is irony.

As for you not having a profile or a blog... well, I mention this because if you had one of these I would have been able to learn more about you.

It reciprocates as well. If you had read my profile you would have learned that I have been forced to leave my country of origin (America) because I am a woman in love with a German woman.
America would not allow her to come to live with me because gay marriage is not recognized, so I moved to Germany, where it is.
Thus it is even ironic that you read my diatribe and thought that it was really "reasons to not allow gay marriage". :)

Once again, no worries.
I completely agree with you that there is nothing wrong with homosexuals.

Please feel free to check out more of my posts on this blog. Perhaps you could do a search for "gay and lesbian" on my blog to see what you get.
